Dear Ulli,
You probably don't remember me, but I waited tables at your restaurant a few years ago now. As I was sitting here tonight, my own three children fast asleep, I realized I hadn't checked in on you guys in a very long time. I was saddened to see Annelie had passed. I am so sorry. I send you gratitude and for that time you both were practically my family, whether you realized it or not. I was very much alone up there in New York.. and you both gave me a job and a good meal.. and occasionally, great kindness--which was as rare as hen's teeth in my life at that time.
Thank you, always. I'm so sorry for your loss. I carry you both in my heart, always.
