Obituary of Alexis Ann Bivins

Please share a memory of Alexis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lexi was born on January 4, 1998 to Randy K. Bivins Jr of Ocala Fla and Wendy S. Conroy of Monticello NY. On March 14, 2014, Lexi lost her long courageous battle with a rare pediatric cancer. She never stopped living, loving, or caring. Lexi always stood up for the underdog and would tenaciously protect her family and friends. The same tenacity she had to fight for what is right helped to carry her bravely to the end of this journey. A journey worthy of a warrior, and she was fondly called Lexi Warrior Princess. Lexi was wise beyond her 16 years and several people likened her to a kindred spirit. In addition to her parents, she leaves behind her paternal grandparents Randy & June Bivins Sr of Ocala FL, maternal grandparents Angela Preston of Monticello and Edward Conroy of Walden, stepmother June George of FL her sister and best friend Autum of Monticello, brother Damion Freer of Monticello, and the "babies" June, Ivy, Summer and Randy of FL stepsiblings Harley, Dezaray and Theodore Rivenburg of FL. great grandmother Dorothy Gildersleeve of Liberty, Thelma Dobell of FL, as well as Mariah McCombs her cousin who rounded out the three musketeer trio, many aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and the love of her life Christian Pacheco. She was predeceased by paternal great grandfathers Vic Bivins, Thomas Gildersleeve, maternal great grandmother June Kanoff, stepfather Joseph Genoski and a cousin Nikkolai. Lexi is a member of the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene in Rock Hill, NY. She spoke bravely about her battle with cancer and tried to give back to those who have helped her and her family. Special thanks to The Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene, her special friend Michelle Labbate, The Allyson Whitney Foundation, Miriam Loor, Monticello Central School District and Hospice. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday evening, March 18 at 6:30pm at the Rock Hill Church of the Nazarene, 210 Katrina Falls Road in Rock Hill with Rev. Roy Shaffer officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather from 3:30pm to 6:30pm at the church prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to the Allyson Whitney Foundation. www.allysonwhitney.org Arrangements under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
