Obituary of Eleanor M. Rampe

Eleanor M. Rampe of Wurtsboro, NY and Stuart, FL, a retired school bus driver for Monticello Central Schools, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown. She was 83. The daughter of the late John Halloran and Katherine Kilbride Halloran, she was born December 31, 1928 in New York City. She was the widow of Lawrence Rampe who predeceased her on May 6, 1991. Eleanor was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wurtsboro, and former member of the Ave Maria Guild and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She was also a member of the Mamakating Seniors, a former trustee for the Village of Wurtsboro and was very active in the South River Condo Association in Stuart, FL. She is survived by two sons: Christopher Rampe and Vincent Rampe, both of Wurtsboro; two daughters: Kathy Motl and her husband JT of Wurtsboro and Eleanor Pannenbacker & her husband Roy of Manorville, NY; six grandchildren: Veronica, Phillip, Eddie, Larry, Allison and Katie; a great grandson: Louie; a brother: John Halloran & his wife Janice of Troy; two sisters: Joan Thomas & her husband Danny of Wurtsboro, and Elizabeth McBride & her husband Leon of Goshen; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son: Lawrence Jr. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, April 3 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4 at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wurtsboro at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice.
