Although not a legal blood "Uncle", my Uncle vinney always made me feel like I was his niece. He always had a great big smile and hug for me when ever I got a chance to go "upstate". I have wonderful childhood memories because of him and his family in Yankee lake. I will always carry all the songs he taught me over the years. Please know my heart goes out to all of you and that you are loved very much.

Though I've only known 'Vinnie' for a couple of years, through Bill and Karen, it's been truly wonderful. I will forever cherish his warm and sunny personality, always with a smile and a laugh, from the magical moments of those times I got to join him and others in some memorable music sessions. Whether it be out here in the Poconos, or those famous "Latimer Kitchen" sessions, Vinnie's warmth shone through. His old timey songs, oftentimes made more special by Patty joining him, and that incredible banjo that he never had to watch while playing, are forever imprinted into my memory. He was always so quick with the jokes, even the ones learned from his grandchildren..."What did the fish say when he swam into the wall?" "DAM!"...Oh, Vinnie, finally jokes I could remember and share!(and I got them!)What a loss to brothers Don and Frank, and to all his children, grandchildren, and the rest of the extended family, friends, and musical community! Vinnie, your first name was really William, and how we laughed sharing stories of my youngest son, "William"(who was actually born on Nov. 16th, 19 years ago)as you could commiserate with the 'Wild Willie' stories. My grandfather and beloved uncle(also was NYPD Member)were Williams, my cousin and son are Williams, and now I have another special William(Vinnie)to keep in my heart and prayers, remembering you with a smile and love at this time, Maryanne Ford, Eric, and sons, Eric, Jr., Brendan, and Willie(my Eric, a young banjo player was inspired by you Vinnie at the Ramagosa house sessions)XOXOXO

I have been a part of the family for over 20yrs and I always looked forward to seeing Uncle Vinny at any gathering. I know at some point he will take out his guitar and someone else will sing along with him. He was the nicest most mellow man I have ever met.Even nicer then Lance. =-) I hope Nanny,my father in -law and him are enjoying a cup of tea up in heaven. He will be missed by Lance and I.

My father in law was the Greatest man I have ever known. A kinder or gentler person you will not find in this world. I have loved him from the first day we meet! He welcomed me into his family. I know he has made my husband Bill the wonderful husband & father that he is today! Family is & always was the most important thing to him. Music was the world to him for all who came into his life he brought them his music & they made it theirs. If you knew Dad you loved him. that has been said more times than I can count. He is a man who will be missed by all who knew him. I Love you Dad. Rest in peace

I was a Rookie Cop in the 83 Pct in Brooklyn 1970 when I first met Vinny. A great guy, I remember one snow storm when he called the 83 Pct at 5 AM to say that he might be late for his 8 AM-4PM tour, because his car wouldn't start and his nearest neighbor was a mile walk in the snow since he lived way up North of NYCity in Sullivan County with his Wife and 8 Kids.
I wished I had gotten to know him better, but our homes were so far apart. RIP Brother !
