Growing up on Mt Prosper, Al was among my father's best friends and therefore at our home often. I will always recall the times he flew his red biplane over the house and we would wave to him. It was such a thrill to see him wave back from the cockpit. I remember days at Dunwoody's place on Masten Lake and recall the first antique jukebox he had...in the boat house. He surely did live a full life. I am truly sorry to have not known of his passing until now, or I would have made every effort to attend his service. Fly well into the sunset, Al. God Bless your soul. Thanks for being such a good friend to our family. Rest in Peace.

Al has been an amazing friend for almost 30 years. His generousity was unbounded. Sharing his time, boathouse, home and beautiful lake with many friends was natural to him. I learned about juteboxes, motors, flying, clocks and a multitude of his interests, as he had an easy way of teaching. I still use his receipe for orange marmalade.
How can any of us forget his great taste for fashion, especially those high top sneakers.
Al was as unique as a person can be. He has been a bright light in my life and will always be in my heart with beautiful memories.
Love you Al, Jeanie

Family of Bill & Marge Smith posted a condolence
Our father worked with Al at the telephone company in Monticello for years. During the summer months Al would park his motor cycle at our house just down the street from work. This was back in the 1950's when Al wore his hair in a crew cut and was a big guy. He would thrill the four of us kids to pieces when this big guy would put us on the back of the huge cycle and ride us around the block. It just didn't get any better than that. Nice people do nice things. May God bless him. (Michael, Casey, Judy & Virginia)

Al was a good neighbor and friend all the years I lived on Little Road. He and my husband Lowell had all kinds of projects underway most of the time. I am saddened to know he is no longer here. My sincere condolences. Eileen
