Obituary of Lee Hammer

Lee Hammer, a flight attendant with American Airlines, departed this life on October 28, 2010 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Lee graduated from Tri Valley High School in 1988 and had a great love for the school and the education he received there. He later received a degree in commercial art at SCCC. Lee's talents though, far outweighed the scope of that field. He became a ticket agent at Stewart International going on to flight attendant school and flew with U.S. Air. He made his home in Allentown, Pa. After several years with U.S. Air, Lee moved up and on to American Airlines. He was very proud of his profession and loved making his home in Ft. Lauderdale. He is survived by his life partner: Robert Butler of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; maternal grandmother: Mary Mentnech, and his mother Jane Hammer both of Woodbourne; two sisters: Judi and Vickie; and a brother Andi; his special cousins: Jodi Gerow Kanatzar, Jenni Gerow Huffman and Rick Barley; loving aunts: Alice Edelman, Judith Gerow and Anne Waring. Lee surrounded himself with special people both in New York and Florida. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at 1:00pm at Bernie's Holiday Restaurant, 277 Rock Hill Drive in Rock Hill, NY. Interment of his ashes will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in Ulster Heights, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
