Ive only known Mr. Gregory for a short time, but in that time I learned so much about who he was. I took care of him for the last four months or more and it was an honor to know and care for such a kind and loving man. He always had a warm hello and made you feel welcome. The love he had for his family and his wife was undeniably beyond measures. His sense of humor and gracious spirit were two of the things I loved most about him. To see the way he cared for his wife was beautiful and admirable and it was obvious the love he had for her. I’m going to miss him and his welcoming smile and the times we had together. I’m blessed to have become part of his life and to get to know him and his wonderful family. May God bless you all and be with you in this time of sorry and great loss.

We I was a small child I asked my mom to dress me in my winter clothes so I could go see Aunt Jane and Uncle Dick. On the way over to their house I started taking my shoes off. By the time I got over there I was barely foot. Aunt Jane called Mom and asked were my shoes were. Mom walked down the driveway and picked up my socks and shoes and brought them to their house.

I remember first meeting Uncle Dick and Aunt Jane, it was the summer of 1966. I was going with his nephew Butch and we went to the Gregory farm in Sackett Lake. At the time the Gregory road was not paved and it was a rainy season so the road had deep ruts. At the time I though Butch was taking me into the wilderness. At the farm I met the whole family for the first time (it was overwhelming). The first member I met was Uncle Dick. He was so friendly and welcomed me as if I was a long lost relative. After 4 years of marrying into the family my husband and I asked Grandpa Gregory if we could buy the farm. In 1970 we became the proud owners of the Old Homestead and the special part was having Uncle Dick and Aunt Jane living next door. It has been 69 wonderful years since meeting the Gregory family and especially Uncle Dick.
All my love, Joan Gregory

Every memory I have of uncle Dick was of him laughing and smiling. His sister, Florence, was my grandmother and the two of them always brought such great energy to the room. My heart left condolences to Aunt Jane and the family during this difficult time.
