I am the parent of a developmentally disabled son who Michael helped care for while employed by the Taconic DDSOO. I was distraught beyond words when I learned, only recently, that he has passed on, at such a young age. I remember Michael as a kind, gentle and highly intelligent guy with a heart as big as a barn. His achievements during his short life were admirable as were his devotion to his wife and children, of whom he spoke of with such pride. It's a huge loss to so many of us who came to appreciate the special guy he was. My most profound condolences to his family. May he be singing with the angels.

Mike, I was always honored to call you my friend, and i loved you like a brother. I always felt invigorated when we were able to spend time together. I loved your energy and spirit. I am going to miss your witty text responses, intellectual conversations, your wealth of knowledge, unique perpspective on life , non-judgemental nature, and most of all the laughs that we shared together at each other expense. I always felt so emotionally healed everytime after we hung out.I am going to miss our spontaneous road trips, youre ability to be honest and call a spade a spade. Your humor was unmatched, and inspired others to tap into their creative witty side and pushed people out of their comfort zones. You essentially brought out the best in people. "Everyone has something unique to offer" is once what you told me
Your love of music, nature, the people you served at your job, and most importantly your children was inspiring. You always fought for what was right and were relentless in that pursuit whether at work, school or in social settings. Rest In peace good friend. I sure hope ghosts are real and if you can pay me a visit sometime. Love you buddy.

Cousin, to hear you are gone from this world is heartbreaking and unbelievable. You were so full of life. Everywhere you went the sunshine followed. you had a way with people, everybody no matter who they were or what they were going thru. You could make anyone smile. You judged no-one and loved all. It is with such great sadness that we will no longer see you here on Earth but to be able to have you waiting for us when it is our time will surely bring peace knowing that we will have those greatest hugs and warm smile again. I send all my love and prayers to our family, especially Aunt Maureen & Uncle Jack, your Brothers Steven & Tommy, Your Amazing Kiddos who will forever continue to shine the light you brought into this world, Liberty, Violet & Luke, as well as there amazing mama's Laura & Samantha and to the friends who have to move forward without you. I hope you all find strength.

I will always remember my cousin Michael as smiling and kind hearted. He somehow always found a way to make me laugh which I always appreciated. My heart goes out to all of us that are feeling this loss, I was lucky to call him a cousin and am sad that he has left this earth. Please keep each other comforted as best you can during this difficult time.
