Obituary of Michael Parlapiano

Michael Parlapiano, 60, died June 6, 2009. Mike was born June 1, 1949 in Brooklyn NY. After graduating high school he served in the United States Marine Corps and then continued with running his family truck parts business. His family writes: "It's been one hell of a ride Woodrow." Lonesome Dove Mike cherished time spent with his family. Always welcomed you with a warm smile and solid embrace. A true visionary, little notebook and pen, tape measure and hammer in hand, he was a genuine craftsman with wood and stone, always working on another project around the house. His charm, quick wit and quiet resilience touched the lives of many- a true gentleman. Truly selfless, he will always be remembered in the hearts of those that knew him and he will be forever missed. He is survived by his adoring wife of 39 years: Peggy; his son: Paul Parlapiano; his daughter: Lisa McKenzie & her husband Bill; his grandchildren Bryanna, Riley and Will; his father: Paul Parlapiano; his brothers: Vincent & his wife Karen and Tom; and his many nieces and nephews: Nicole, Chris, Timmy, TJ, Paige, Courtney and Kyle; his uncle: Joe Marino and wife Nadine of Rochester; and cousins: Debra and James, and their families. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions on Mike's behalf may be made to The Heritage Foundation, American Heart Association, and the American Diabetes Association. An informal memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 1 to 3pm, at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
