Obituary of Glenn R. Thorburn

Glenn R. Thorburn, an accountant for the Freedom Tax Centers in Monticello, and a 26-year resident of the area, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 56.The son of the late Henry J. Thorburn and Mildred M. Maurus Thorburn, Glenn was born January 29, 1952 in Hackensack, NJ.Glenn was a former member of the United States Army, and after serving as an office manager and accountant, he received his Master's degree from Columbia University.Glenn was a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and the National Society of Tax Professionals. He will be remembered as an avid fisherman, proud grandfather, and a lover of anything having to do with Batman.He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Patricia I. Dunn Thorburn, at home; his son, David J. Thorburn, at home; his daughter, Yvonne A. Reynolds and her husband, Phil of Monticello; brother, Keith Thorburn, and his wife, Theresa of Laurel, MD; grandson, Christian Reynolds of Monticello; nephews: Kevin Antreassian of Dover, NJ, and Christopher Garrand, and his wife, Katya of Sparta, NJ; nieces: Ashley Thorburn, Elizabeth Thorburn, and Megan Thorburn, all of Laurel, MD, and Susan Antreassian, of Dover, NJ. Glenn was predeceased by his father, Henry J. Thorburn and his stepfather, John Maurus.As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service.Glenn's family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 20, from 4 to 6 p.m., at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
