Obituary of Maxie Kevin DuBose
Please share a memory of Maxie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The music world lost a much loved and respected member of its community with the death of singer/songwriter Max DuBose, a/k/a Vo'kome Hó'nehe on August 17, 2019.
Max is the #1 Americana Artist on ReverbNation and his original music is distributed on sites such as Amazon, iTunes and Spotify. While awaiting the release of his 7th album, Max played his final set with members of his band (Max DuBose and the Scandalous Rogues) at the Woodstock 50th reunion in New York. Following the performance, Max passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Max graduated high school in Shreveport, LA and attended Southern Ark University on athletic scholarship. While earning both his Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees at Texas A&M University, Max was awarded academic scholarship, placed on the Dean's list, and inducted into the National Honor Society.
Max was born September 26, 1960 in Texas City, Texas to R.T. and Edith DuBose. He is survived by his son Chad; three grandchildren Ford, Greyson, and Greer; his brothers Rodney and Mike; his sisters Nita and Sandi; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Max was a resident of Delray Beach, Florida. Max's band members are planning to establish a foundation to honor his music and his memory.
Arrangements for a life celebration are pending.
