Heartfelt condolences to the McManus family and my Monti High classmate Craig, for the passing of a man who was a hero to me one fateful day in 1980 and clearly, a hero to all those whose lives he touched with his kind, honest, hard-working and no-nonsense demeanor. May he rest in peace and may his extended family channel his selfless service and humanity.

To Sheila, Lou Ann and family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Ed was a customer and a friend in the Monticello post office for more years then I can remember. He always had time for a smile and a kind and appreciated word. He will be remembered fondly forever.
May G-D comfort you all in this grieving process.

Dear McManus Family:
Please accept my condolences. I worked with Ed on the police department almost 40 years ago. He was certainly memorable because he was a giant of a man. Ed was also the consummate gentleman, and treated everyone with civility and respect, and those qualities made him memorable as well.
I also remember he had a sharp sense of humor, especially when it came to doing his impersonation of Peter Sellers' legendary character, Inspector Clouseau! So while I am sad that he is gone, the memory of him brought a smile to my face. Rest in Peace Ed.
