In looking online for fellow Dollard addresses in the Monticello area, I came across the obituary of John and immediately felt shock and immense sorrow.
John was a wonderful cousin, and a sweet, kind, and generous human being. To us, John, was the wise child...he always seemed to be mature beyond his years. He had a softness in his expression that was also reflected in the eyes of his parents.
Our hearts and prayers go out to you (all of his brothers and dear sister )and all of your families. I am in awe of the strength and resilience of your family. I hope that you know how much we love and admire you all......and RIP dear John.
Love,
Cousin Eileen (Dollard)

My heart aches for your loss. My memories were as kids visiting Aunt Katie and Uncle Vince with my parents Ed and Ann Dollard and my sister Eileen. Eileen learned of John's passing only tonight 11/15/17. John as the oldest was the one I related to as I was around his age. I always felt the bond we made as kids. The years have gone by and we have lived apart. I do remember being together at our grandfather's memorial in Albany for fallen police officers and a family wedding. I am saddened we really have been apart as adults. John had a strong resemblance to the Dollard side of the family. He had that barrel chest like my Dad and of course the eye brows like Uncle Vince and my father. He was a loving and protective brother to his family. Life happens and I feel sorry we loss our chance to connect. May John rest in peace with his love ones who have also passed. With deepest sympathy and love.
Cousin DeAnn

Arlene and I wish to send our sincerest condolences to the Dollard family. John was, in his quiet, unassuming way, one of the finest men we've known, and a consummate tradesman as an electrician.

Very sorry to hear about John, my condolences to the whole family & extended family.
I remember John being kind, generous, fair but firm when anyone crossed him watch out.
Many great memories of hanging out with John & the rest of the Dollard clan. As I was younger than John & I looked up to him but he never made me feel the least bit inferior in any way, I just felt safe & a part of, when I was around him...
Uncle Vinnie & Aunt Katie would have been proud of him & I was proud to have been his cousin & friend. My love to all of you -
Pax Vobiscum

So sorry to hear of John's passing. He was a very special guy. My father, George, considered him a son. He always referred to "Johnny" and John Hendrix as the "boys".

My sincerest condolences to the Dollard Family. John was truly a kind man whose heart radiated genuine love and goodness to all those whose lives he touched. Whenever I saw John, he greeted me with a smile that you could see in his eyes. He was so good to my parents, 'Aunt Mary & Uncle Hoot',(though we weren't blood relatives, we were in every other way). He helped my mother after my father passed away, with any electric work that was needed-and there was plenty, as our house was old and in need of repair. He never sent a bill. Our families go back to childhood, so I have great memories of of us playing outside & eating dinner at Aunt Katie & Uncle Vinny's with that big kitchen table. There was a lot of laughter. May John rest in eternal peace along with his parents, brother Eddie, Heather, & Lindsay. May all of the Dollard family always be comforted with fond memories. Love, Eda

John was my first best friend and we lived across the street. We played together all the time as children. I felt that I was like their big sister. John, Mike, Pat, Tim, Peter, Vincent, Eddie and Alice Jean. I love you all, but the bond John and I had was so special. Loved their parents Katie and Vinnie, I felt like they were my second parents. I am devastated by Johns passing. I now live in South Carolina but got to see John on a trip to NY. We hugged and cried since it had been years since we’d seen each other. Heaven has a new very special angel. I will miss you and love you John. Rest In Peace.
