Obituary of Belle Emma DuBois

Belle E. (Jordan) DuBois of Monticello died on February 14, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris after a short illness. She was 89 years old. Belle was born on November 29, 1927 in Valley Stream, NY to the late Horace Jordan and Emma Evers. After losing her father at a young age, her mother remarried and Belle was raised by her mother and stepfather, Robert Bedford, in Elmont, NY. Belle moved to Monticello shortly after High School where she met and married the love of her life, Edward DuBois on January 25, 1948. Mr. DuBois predeceases her. Belle was employed with National Union Bank of Monticello for several years before leaving to stay home and care for her family. Belle loved crafting, crocheting and baking - her home always having the smell of freshly baked goodies. She was an avid doll collector – having a collection of 100 plus dolls, and also enjoyed sewing her own dolls and selling them at local craft shows. Surviving is one sister, Mabel Fingado of Lindenhurst, NY; children, Dawn Ruggiero (John) of Forestburgh, NY and Darin DuBois (Bea) of Beloit, WI; five grandchildren, Katherine Ruggiero of Burlington, VT, Jennifer Sheehan (Mark) of Hyde Park, NY, Tegan DuBois of Hopkinsville, KY, Edward and Sarah DuBois of Beloit, WI and four great-grandchildren, Willa Ruggiero, Nora and Lennox Sheehan and Hanley DuBois. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, James Jordan and Edward Bedford. Burial will be held privately at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
