Karl E. Stammler Sr. "Grumpy" of Wurtsboro, a retired auto mechanic for Nassau County Dept. of Public Works, died Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the Town of Mamakating. He was 79.
The son of the late Lother Stammler and Emma Schenck Stammler, he was born September 10, 1937 in New York City.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years: Dolores Macur Stammler, at home; a daughter: Patricia "Cissy" Schenck & her husband David of Wurtsboro; a son: Karl E. Stammler Jr. & his wife Caroline of Levittown; and four grandchildren: Kyle, David, Steven and Kristine.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, February 9 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral service will be held on Thursday evening at 6:30pm at the funeral home.
