Obituary of Barbara M. Garbarini

Barbara M. Garbarini, a former resident of Bloomingburg, NY, died Thursday, January 26, 2017 in Milford, CT. She was 89. The daughter of the late Michael Stanton and Sarah McNally Stanton, she was born June 18, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the widow of Douglas C. Garbarini who predeceased her on March 26, 2003. Barbara was a longtime member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Bloomingburg where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, weekly money counter and the Ladies Guild. She was a dear friend who loved to play cards, knit and crochet. She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Brian Nelson (Marilyn), Bobbie Seelin (Andy), Bert Nelson (Elaine), Beth Coscia (Tony) and Marilyn Pedalino; and several great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister: Eleanor Nelson (Bert). Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, January 28 from 9:30am to 11:30 am at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will then be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday at the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, High Street in Bloomingburg with Fr. Anthony Trung officiating. Burial will follow at the Bloomingburg Rural Cemetery.
