Obituary of Arthur R. Green

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur R. Green, a retired engineer for the Lehigh & Hudson River Railroad and former resident of Warwick. He died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at his home in Claryville, NY at the age of 88. The son of the late Burdett Green and Matilda Van Vessem Green, he was born June 17, 1928 in Warwick. Arthur was a 70-year member of the Raymond Hose Co. in Warwick. He was an avid hunter and member of Round Pond Hunting Club where he spent many days hunting with his daughter and brother. He was also a member of the Aden Knight Riders snowmobile club. He was the love of Margaret's life and a wonderful father and mentor to Carol. He is survived by his wife of 68 years: Margaret "Muffy" Masker Green, at home; a daughter: Carol Neathery of Monticello; a brother: Edward Green Jr. of Warwick; a sister: Alice Blake Coates of Warwick; and several nieces and nephews. Family & friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 20 from 4-6pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. A memorial service will be held at 6pm at the funeral home.
