While remembering my former students at Sullivan County Community College today, I learned that Dorothy had passed away and am deeply saddened.
A student I could call a "friend," Dorothy was one of the best students I have had in my years of teaching. While she was highly devoted to her family, she was also devoted to her studies.
Dorothy invited me into her home to share dinner with her and her family. The evening went all too quickly, and I often think of that delightful time we had together. Unfortunately, I left the college and returned to another teaching position in the Albany area; and we lost contact with each other. I am so sorry to find her life in her obituary today and hope that somehow I assisted her in her path of success.
