Lindsay Marie Dollard of Monticello passed away on Christmas Day, 2016 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla at the age of 38.
Lindsay was born the daughter of Timothy and Susan Dollard on January 31, 1978 in Port Jervis, and lived most of her life in Sullivan County. Born with Spina bifida, she struggled throughout her life with many medical difficulties. She lost her fight after complications from surgery. Lindsay was truly a living angel. Now she has her wings.
Lindsay was the heart and light of her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She truly loved people and brought laughter and light to everyone she met. She was most proud of completing high school getting a state diploma and being able to live independently in her own apartment. She loved writing poetry, singing and wheelchair dancing.
She is survived by her parents: Timothy & Susan; a brother: Trevor Dollard & his wife Jennifer, and their children: Nicholas and Andrew, all of Smallwood; Uncles Peter Richardson (Lynne) of New Hampshire, John Dollard of Monticello, Michael Dollard (Adrianne) of Monticello, Patrick Dollard (Arlene) of Hurleyville, Peter Dollard (Daria) of Hurleyville, Vincent Dollard (Linda) of Glen Spey Alice Taggart (Glen) of California and many cousins. Lindsay also leaves behind her many wonderful friends, supportive medical staff and especially her devoted personal care aides Tabitha Lopressi and Katlyn Basso and of course her rescued dog, Spencer.
Family & friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 29th from 4pm to 7pm at the VanInwegen Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. A prayer service will be held at 6:30pm at the funeral home. Interment of her ashes will be held at a later date at St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family at PO Box 333, Smallwood, NY 12778. The family will make appropriate contributions to Lindsay's favorite charities.
