Obituary of Max Heimowitz

Max O'Neil Heimowitz of Rock Hill, a student at Clarkson University in Potsdam, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 11, 2016. Max was 19.
Max was born March 29, 1997, in Middletown, New York. An accomplished skier and golf enthusiast, Max loved to off-road with his Jeep and be with his friends and family. Max was a warm and loving young man with an infectious smile and a gentle manner. He will be very much missed by all who were privileged to have had him in their lives.
Max is survived by his mother, Siobhan Auby Heimowitz and Michael Belgiovene (and family) of Rock Hill; his father, Lonnie Heimowitz of Monticello; his younger sister, Sofia; paternal grandparents, Carole and Jay Heimowitz of Bethel; maternal grandmother, Marion Jane Auby and the late Lawrence Auby of Springfield, IL; Max's aunts and uncles: Ethan Auby; Marla & Copeland Auby; Karen & Eddie Bennett; Nastya & Roy Heimowitz; and Neil Heimowitz; Max's many cousins: Tony & Richard Auby; Katie & Jackie Bennett; Angelo, Jake, Casey, Neil & Tolik Heimowitz; and Jeff & Karalyn King.
Family & friends are invited to gather on Friday, December 16, from 3-6 pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. A funeral service will begin at 6 pm at the funeral home.
Max loved his time teaching skiing to children at Holiday Mountain. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Holiday Mountain Ski Club Inc., 34 North Street, Monticello, NY, or Erika's Lighthouse (erikaslighthouse.org), or to the charity of one's choice.
