Obituary of Albert J. H. Rein Sr.

Please share a memory of Albert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Surrounded by his loving family Albert Joseph Herman Rein Sr. entered into the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 4, 2016. A fun loving, kind humble and compassionate soul, his family although happy for his life in God's eternity, are heartbroken to give him up for it. He was 71. The son of the late Albert Herman Rein and Mary Ann Horracks Rein, he was born March 20, 1945 in Brooklyn, NY. Like any true PS 130 Brooklyn boy, he loved the Brooklyn Dodgers and was heartbroken when the Bums left for LA. At age 13 his family moved to Closter, NJ where he attended Northern Valley Regional High School Demarest, playing baseball, track and golf. Upon graduating in 1962, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served in the Strategic Air Command as a skilled mechanic repairing jet engines wherever B-52's were found in the world, including Vietnam. These skills and experience would prove useful to him the rest of his life. After six years of honorable service he returned to NY. Upon his return to NY he graduated from Rockland Community College with a degree in business. He found himself working and growing in various business and accounting positions. It was his love of hunting and fishing that would eventually lead him to the "best catch of his life". He would buy anything he could at the local hardware store in Tappan, NY. On his frequent "shopping" visits, this is where he met, courted and eventually married the owners' daughter Annette Josetta Rispoli. They were married in May of 1970. His career in accounting and computer systems brought Albert and his family on many adventures. Spanning the East coast from Massachusetts to North Carolina, Al and Annette were blessed with the birth of a child in each place. In the next 46 years of marriage together they raised 10 amazing children with their gifts of unconditional love, understanding and faith. Finding the time along the way to make great contributions to each community they resided in, including but not limited to serving as a Boy Scout Master, Full Gospel Business Men, Kairos Prison Ministry, and multiple Pro Life ministries. He also had a special devotion and service as trustee to the Parksville Methodist Church and a sought after local lay speaker. Albert found great joy serving as owner operator of Wurtsboro Hardware store working side by side with his family. He was fulfilled in being able to use his extensive knowledge and skill as the community needed. His love of fishing, hunting, and his ability to fix and repair most anything is not lost by his children and grandchildren or anyone who spent time in these activities with him. He is survived at home by his loving wife of 46 years Annette J. Rein; The Best Daddy in the whole wide world to his children: Albert Rein of Pine Bush, Andrew and Maria Rein, Anthony and Jenifer Rein, Anita and Robert Scoyni, Alissa and Eddie Torres, Angela Rein, Aimee Rein, Alex Rein all of Monticello, NY, Aaron Rein and Arthur Aulisi of New York, NY and Agustin Rein of Brooklyn, NY; and affectionately known as Pop by his 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved Sisters: Ann Marie White and Helen Emily Rein; and cherished by many beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as Friends too many to list here throughout the world. Family & friends are invited to gather on Saturday, December 10 from 12-4pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral service with military honors will begin at 3pm at the funeral home. Albert was directly committed to the protection of the Un-born. In lieu of flowers, any donations may be made to the First Way Life Center, PO Box 1168, Monticello, NY 12701.
