Alphonse "Funzi" Langone Sr. of Wurtsboro, a retired rigger for JC Duggan Inc. in Brooklyn, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Albany VA Medical Center. He was 86.
The son of the late Vito "Peter" Langone and Mary Saviano Langone, he was born on May 29, 1930 in Brooklyn. He was predeceased by his wife Dolores in 2011.
Mr. Langone was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War.
He is survived by a daughter: Dolores Langone Bonney; and a grandchild: Rory J. Roche, both of Wurtsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 9 at 10:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Middletown.
