Obituary of Patricia M. Pavone

Patricia M. Pavone, a retired employee of New York Life Insurance Co. in New York City, died Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at her home in Wurtsboro surrounded by her family. She was 91. The daughter of the late James Driscoll and Margaret Powers Driscoll, she was born June 29, 1925 in Brooklyn. She was the widow of Nicholas A. Pavone, who predeceased her on April 29, 2013. Pat was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she was active in the Ave Maria Guild. She was also a volunteer and mentor at the Emma C. Chase Elementary School in Wurtsboro, and a member of the Red Hat Society and Mamakating Seniors. In addition to her family, her great passion in life was spending countless hours tending to her flowers, trees and the animals that visited her garden. She was blessed by the number of devoted friends that supported and loved her. She is survived by a son: Bill Pavone & his wife Teena of Brooklyn; a daughter: Nancy Pavone & her husband Glen of Brooklyn; two grandchildren: Nicole Smith & her husband Graham, and William Pavone & his wife Jessica; her great grandchildren: Cameron, Paige and Riley Smith, Soula & Pascale Pavone; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by an infant son: Robert. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, October 24 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 25 at 10am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating. Burial will follow at the Sylvan Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
