Laurence Alan Van Acker, died Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home in Wurtsboro, surrounded by his family. He was 86. The son of the late Victor and Kathryn Van Acker, he was born January 17, 1930 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. A Korean War veteran of the United States Air Force, he served from 1948-1952. He and Jane later settled in Wurtsboro, NY, working for 30 years at Channel Master Corp. in Ellenville, NY. He is survived by his wife: Jane Van Acker; a daughter: Elizabeth Krupp & her husband Frank; a sister: Joan Parry of Freeland, WA; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James Van Acker. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, October 14 from 1-3pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Interment of his ashes will follow at the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wurtsboro.
