Obituary of Robert Charles Conklin

Robert Charles Conklin, a retired electrician with local union 363, died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at his home in Middletown surrounded by his loving family. He was 83.
The son of the late Robert George Conklin and Anne Kubran Conklin, he was born March 30, 1933 in Nyack, NY.
A proud veteran of the United States Marines, Bob enjoyed his life as an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved working with leather, oil painting and playing guitar. He was a member of the American Philatelist and the Germany Postal Specialist as well as the Germany Philatelic Society, but his biggest joy in life was being around his family.
He is survived by his wife: Dawn Anspach Conklin, at home; two sons: Robert Conklin & his wife Katherine of Sugar Hill, GA and Gene Conklin of Middletown; two daughters: Kathleen Arrant & her husband Laurence of Sweetwater, TX and Linda Conklin of Bloomingburg; eight grandchildren: Angela, Jessica, Leland, George, Alec, Michael, Madison & Nicholas; five great grandchildren; brother: Steven J. Conklin of Middletown; stepson: Ronnie Tramontano; stepdaughter: Jennifer Kennedy & her husband John; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother William; his sister Lillian; and his sister-in-law Carol.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, October 3 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 4 at 11:30am at St. Anthony's Church, 36 W Nyack Road in Nanuet. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet.
