Obituary
Obituary of Peter J. Kreiter
Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter Joseph Kreiter , lifelong resident of Monticello, died on Sunday, May 5, 2013. He was 57 years old.
Peter was born on November 28, 1955 in Monticello, the only son of Gerard (Jerry) and Alice (Dillon) Kreiter.
He is survived by his sisters, Ellen Neumann of Liberty, Peggy Lindstadt & husband Ed of Monticello and Kathy Kreiter & husband Joao Silva of Monticello; nieces and nephews Geri Neumann and husband Craig Duffy of Liberty, Barbi Neumann Marty & husband Dan of Parksville, Suzanne Lindstadt of Monticello, Eddy Lindstadt of Smallwood, Keith Restrepo & wife Evegenia Korotkova of Forestburgh, Kyle Kreiter & wife Julia of Liberty, and Angela Fiola of Miami Florida, 6 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews , his faithful dog Max and many wonderful friends . In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his soul mate Ina Fiola.
He was a computer whiz, enjoyed the occasional visit to the Racino, the stock car races, holidays and his RV. His dog traveled with him everywhere. Peter loved animals. Peter was special; he could light up a room with his humor. He was the proverbial Good Samaritan, helping those who needed help with fortitude and continuity. Peter was always there to support us (his sisters and our offspring) just like our Dad before him; loving us all unconditionally.
Peter's kind heart has stopped beating; his voice now silent. Heaven is fortunate to have his beautiful soul in residence. Oh how he will be missed! No matter what, we will always and forever be FOUR. His spirit lives on in our broken hearts.
Services for our brother Peter will be held at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello on Tuesday, May 7th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. His funeral mass will be held at St Peter’s Church, Broadway and Liberty Street in Monticello at 10 am on Wednesday morning, May 8th. Burial will take place at St. Peter's Cemetery on Rock Ridge Drive in Monticello.
