Obituary of Joseph M. Washington

Joseph M. Washington of Middlebury VT died on September 14, 2016. He was 67 years old, having been born on April 6, 1949 in Monticello, NY. He was a construction driver for Local 445 Teamsters Union and upon retirement spent seven years at Sullivan County BOCES as a security monitor. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, Monticello, NY, St. Mary's Church, Middlebury, VT and a former member of Cliff Lodge Hunting Club, Monticello Volunteer Fire Department and Monticello BPOE. He survived by his loving wife Frances; son Thomas Klemmer (Beth Stanway), grandchildren Jacob and Suzie Klemmer; a sister Anastasia Robisch (John); a brother Robert (Peggy); his uncle William Lane (Carol); and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Ambrose H. (Slim) and Margaret Lane Washington, brother John Washington, sister-in-law Patricia Washington-Jackson and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Remembrance will be said at St. Mary's Church in Middlebury, VT on Saturday September 24th at 5:15pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter's Church in Monticello, NY on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00am followed by burial of cremains at St. Peter's Cemetery in Monticello. A luncheon will be held at Mr. Willy's directly following. In lieu of flowers or memorials, Joe's wish was for his family and friends to do a kindness for someone, in remembrance of him.
