Roland C. "Ronnie" Miller died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 21, 2016 in Smallwood, NY at the age of 59. Ronnie is survived by his children, Ron Miller (Chris) of Pine Bush, Christie Miller of Smallwood, Thomas Berry (Maria) of Dingmans Ferry, PA, Donna Lubniewski (Erik) of Washingtonville, and Daniel Berry (Tisha) of Woodbourne; his mother Janet and stepfather Bill Murns of Mongaup Valley; sisters Teresa Layton of White Lake, Jennifer (Ben) Stone of Liberty and Rosalie (Alonzo) Geminiano of Gardiner; brothers Dennis Miller of Utica and Richard Miller of Monticello; stepsisters Joanne (Dennis) Payne of Florida and Donna (Dave) Sanford of Mongaup Valley; stepbrother Edgar Murns of Alabama; his godson Bobby Layton (Starla) of Louisiana; grandchildren Thomas, Mikey, Allie, Landen, Trinity, Erik, Isobel, Conor, Angelina, Aiden, Jameson; and several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his life partner Donna Berry of Smallwood; his father Roland C. Miller Sr.; and brother Daniel Miller both of Mongaup Valley. Ronnie was born on January 12, 1957 in Monticello, NY to Roland and Janet Miller. He was a graduate of Monticello High School and worked as a long haul truck driver for AMI and as a mechanic and tow truck driver for Seven X motors for many years. Ronnie served his community as a member of the Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Fire Department for over 35 years, serving as chaplain for 15 years. Ronnie wants his brothers at Station 30 to know that he is always riding along side and protecting them. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the White Lake Reformed Presbyterian Church, Route 17B in White Lake, NY, with a celebration of life to follow at the Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Firehouse on Ballard Road. Pastor David Coon will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ronnie's life. Donations can be made to the Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties or the Smallwood-Mongaup Valley Fire Department. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc.
