Obituary of Norine Elizabeth Michel

Norine Elizabeth Michel of Grahamsville, a retired local bank manager, died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. She was 79. The daughter of the late Robert J. Buckles and Lucille McGuire Buckles, she was born April 17, 1937 in Queens, NY. She was the widow of George Michel, who predeceased her in 1979. Norine was the former proprietor of Kiamesha Lanes. She loved flowers and gardening. She was a wonderful cook who loved to cook for her children, grandchildren and all their friends. They all referred to her as "Mama" and she loved them all. Norine is so very loved and we will miss her so much. Survivors include her two daughters: Karen Michel of Grahamsville, a nd Kathy Moore & her husband Walter of Liberty; three grandsons: Derek Moore (Alicia Perry), Brendan Moore and Cameron Moore; a brother: Robert C. Buckles & his wife Patricia of Monticello; several nieces and nephews; and her dog Reilly and cat Simba. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, August 9 from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.
