Obituary of Ella D. Martinek

Ella (Albrecht) Martinek passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2016 at the Skilled Nursing Unit -CRMC in Harris, NY. Ella will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
She was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Albrecht, born August 21, 1922 in Monticello, and was a retired repair and installation clerk for New York Telephone Company. After graduating from Monticello High School, she moved to New York City where she met and married the love of her life, the late George Charles Martinek. They moved back to Sackett Lake to raise their children.
Ella loved cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, shopping, and was an avid gardener. She was a member of the First Church of Monticello-Presbyterian, Professional Women of Sullivan County, Monticello Seniors, Telephone Pioneers, Bailey Richman VFW Post #9588, Monticello Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the Stitch Witch Sewing Club.
Ella leaves behind to cherish her memories, her sons: Charles and George A. Martinek; daughter: Donna Mulvey & her husband Mickey; loving grandchildren: Albert (Mary), Amber, T.J.. George P. (Jessica), and Rebecca & her fiancé Ben; great grandchildren: Gavin, Bailey, Audrey, Logan, Ada, Fin and Carter; a sister: Louise; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends, as well as her faithful four legged companion, Tito.
She was predeceased by her husband George; sons: Ron and Michael; a sister: Carolyn; and a brother: Charles.
A celebration of Ella's life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Church of Monticello-Presbyterian or to the Monticello Elk's Lodge #1544.
