Obituary of Mae Charlotte Kaywood

Mae Charlotte Kaywood of Wurtsboro died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Valley View Center in Goshen. She was 86. The daughter of the late Norman Kelley and Charlotte Gerke Kelley, she was born February 19, 1930 in the Bronx. Mae loved animals and always enjoyed feeding the birds. She also loved flowers, crocheting, music, singing, playing piano and accordion. She cherished her family very much and could not see enough of them; in fact she loved all people and enjoyed listening to everyone's stories. She donated generously to animals and Native American causes, and attended senior citizens meetings, driving the ladies to and from these functions. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends with never a harsh word coming out of her mouth. A patient and gentle soul. Mae is survived by her husband: Curtis, at home; a daughter: Judith Sustack & her husband Joseph of Middletown' two sons: Steven Pogozelski & his wife Theresa of Minisink, and John Pogozelski of Walden; six grandchildren: Joseph, Jason, Jessica, Olivia, Jillian and John; five great grandchildren: Ava, Michael, Lyla, Morgan and Peyton ; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister: Norma Bienskie. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, June 17 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Monroe Community Cemetery in Monroe, NY.
