Morton I. Baum, a long time resident of Monticello, NY and local attorney, died Wednesday June 15, 2016 at Catskill Regional Hospital. He was 83 years of age. The son of the late Harry and Etta Baum, he was born in 1932 the Bronx, NY. He was the widower of Hazel S. Baum. He served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corp, and was a member of Kiwanis and the NYS Bar Association. Mr. Baum is survived by sons and daughter-in-laws, Richard and Elisa Baum, Jonathan and Amanda Baum; and daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth Baum and Adam Glatt; a sister Miriam Cohen of FLA; seven grandchildren, Hannah Glatt, Max Baum, Jack Baum, Matthew Glatt, Michael Glatt, Luke Baum, and Miles Baum; his wife Elaine and her children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Abraham and Bernard Baum. His funeral service will be held on Friday, June 17 at 2:00pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello with Rabbi Simcha Zajac officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Ahavath Israel Cemetery, Hysana Road in Liberty.
