Obituary of Linda Lou Freaney

Heaven gained a beautiful angel, Linda Freaney of Swan Lake on May 30, 2016. She was 60 years old. The daughter of Shirley and Lewis Smith of Monticello, she was born on April 11, 1956. Linda was a retired post master for Smallwood post office.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Mike Freaney; her son Patrick Freaney and granddaughter Taylor of Liberty; her daughter Kellie, her grandson Hunter, Her mother Shirley Smith, Brother Glenn Smith and his wife Pat all of Monticello. Gary Smith and his wife Bonnie of Rock Hill, and two sisters Kathy Beseth and husband Steve of White Sulphur Springs, and Laurie Frunzi and husband Gary of Fallsburg; as well as sisters-in-law Karen Kilgore and husband Jim, and Debbie Blackford and husband Richard both of Monticello; and five nieces and nine nephews. Linda was predeceased by her loving father Lewis Smith and beloved in-laws Ann and Leo Freaney of Monticello.
Linda was a kind, compassionate, caring and loving person. She had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh that could light up a room. She loved her family and friends, especially her two beautiful grandchildren, and cherished her three favorite companions, her dogs. Linda lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed every minute of it. She enjoyed her winters in Florida with her husband and cherished every moment spent with her two grandchildren. She will be forever thought of, loved and missed.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, June 1 from 4-7pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 2 at 11am at the United Methodist Church, 445 Broadway in Monticello with Pastor Melvin Boone officiating. Burial will follow.
