Evelyn Elizabeth Glasgow, born August 11, 1946 in Claremont, VA, and raised in Harlem, New York, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Jeremiah Glasgow of Monticello, New York. She is survived by her three daughters, Theresa R. Robinson of Virginia; Lynda L. Robinson of New York and Tanesha M. Robinson of New Jersey; and a stepdaughter: Denise Daniels of New York. Left also on earth to cherish the memory of her endless and hardy sense of humor are 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren residing in New York, New Jersey and Virginia. Her professional life was spent in the fashion industry fields during her youth in New York, NY and culinary arts in Catskills New York. Her passions were catering for parties and various functions, crocheting, music, civil rights advocacy and community outreach. Her life also centered on serving family, church and many friends. A celebration of life will be held Monday, May 9, 2016, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 28 Liberty Street, Monticello, NY. Viewing from 10-11 at the church. Burial will follow at the Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
