Obituary of Harold Lacey Jr.

Harold Lacey Jr. of Swan Lake, a retired high school mathematics teacher, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 62.
The son of Gladys Klinegardner Lacey and the late Harold Lacey Sr., he was born December 16, 1953 in Monticello.
Harold received his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at SUNY Fredonia and his Master's Degree in Mathematical Statistics from Florida State University. He was a high school mathematics teacher for 32 years and for the last 19 of that, he also was an adjunct instructor for SUNY Sullivan. He also coached high school football, baseball and softball. He was also an Honorary Life Member of the Monticello Elk's Lodge #1544. He currently served as the Lodge Secretary and was a Past Exalted Ruler. Harold was also a Past State Vice President, Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler and Past State Trustee representing the East Central District. He was also a past member of the Monticello Masons and served a three year term on the Town of Bethel Youth Board.
He is survived by his wife: Susan Laymon Lacey, at home; his mother: Gladys Lacey; a brother-in-law: Brent Laymon of Swan Lake; nieces: Dana Laymon, Beth Swiat (Brian) and Jessica Laymon; nephews: Brandan Laymon, Jordan Laymon; and great nephews: Brian Swiat Jr. and Brennan Swiat.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, May 4 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel.
