Bonifacio Torres, retired from the hospitality department of the New York City Hotel industry, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty. He was 84. The son of the late Emilio Torres and Ramona Molina, he was born June 5, 1931 In Florida, Puerto Rico. He was the widow of Ramona Torres. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Mr. Torres was an avid New York Yankees fan and loved to fix things. He especially loved gardening and appreciated everything God has given us. He is survived by a son: Bonifacio Torres Jr. and his wife, Altagracia of New York, NY; two daughters: Marilyn Rosa of Glen Spey, NY and Illeana Torres and her husband, Samuel Montalvo of Kunkletown, PA; his five grandchildren: Jason Torres, Juan Oky DeLeon (Jennifer Ann), Jesse Nicholas Montalvo (Rydell Shotsberger), Christopher Dominic Rosa, and Carlos Albert Ramirez (Stefanie Curry); his great grandchildren: Juan Anthony DeLeon, Jaelynn Illeana DeLeon, Jayson Dominic DeLeon, Casey Ann DeLeon, Destiny Aracelia Torres, Jason Gabriel Torres, Delilah Ivette Torres, and one on-the-way Micah Elliot; a brother: Angel Luis Torres-Molina of Carolina, Puerto Rico; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 30 at 1 p.m. at the First Church of Monticello Presbyterian, Jones Street in Monticello with Rev. Johanna K. Andritz officiating.
