Obituary
Obituary of Jackson Joshua Smith
Please share a memory of Jackson to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jackson Joshua Smith was granted his angel wings on April 12, 2016, following a courageous battle with brain cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Jackson had touched in many ways throughout his short yet memorable life. Jackson's life would seem far too short for many, but the many lives who were touched by him understood that the quality of one's existence far exceeds the quantity in which one lives.
Jackson was born on July 6, 2011 in Rhinebeck, NY.
He will be remembered for his strength and courage.
Jackson is survived by his loving parents, Kim Ann Candela and David Smith, along with his younger brother, Gunnar Lewis Smith. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Donald Candela "Pa", his companion, Sue Arra "Ma Sue"; as well as his paternal grandparents, Christine Lester "Nana" and John Lewis "Papa', as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his Mema Etta Candela.
There will be a memorial service held from 1 to 4 p.m. on April 30 at the Ellenville Elks Lodge in Napanoch, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Maria Farari Children's Hospital, Child Life Department.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home of Wurtsboro. www.kennyfuneralhome.com
