Doris Jones, a former longtime resident of Monticello, died Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, CT. She was 78.
The daughter of the late Emmet Littman and Louvenia Richardson, she was born April 20, 1934 in Milledgeville, GA. She was the widow of Richard Lee Jones.
Doris is survived by six sons: Kevin Ryder of Germany, Coby Ryder of Albany, Todd S. Jones & his wife Veronica of Middletown, Scott Jones of Middletown, Reginald Jones of New York and Jason Jones of New York; a daughter: Chevon Jones of White Plains; a sister: Meris Cummings of Richmond, VA; two sisters-in-law: Marion Jones and Catherine Jones, both of Petersburg, VA; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a sister: Bethene Cummings.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, April 12 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 13 at 11am at the Bethlehem Temple Church, 93 Fairground Road in Monticello. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.
