Harold Otis Lacey Sr. of Monticello, a retired meat cutter for Great American Supermarket, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Newton Hospital in Newton, NJ. He was 87.
The son of the late E. Wiley Lacey and Lillian Barnhart Lacey, he was born September 27, 1928 in Livingston Manor, NY.
Harold was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a Life Member of the Monticello Elk's Lodge #1544.
He is survived by his wife: Gladys Klinegardner Lacey, a resident of the Roscoe Community Nursing Home; a son: Harold O. Lacey Jr. & his wife Susan of Swan Lake; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers: Clifford, George and Wiley Lacey; and six sisters: Vera Daggen, Margaret Smith, Mae VanAken, Gladys Martin, Eda Kanoff, Eva Terwilliger, Clara Tremper and Lillian Lacey.
Graveside services and burial with military honors will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Road in Liberty.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Elk's National Foundation or to the New York State Elk's Association - Major Projects.
