Obituary of Shirley Tyler Jones

Shirley Tyler-Jones of Monticello, NY, a food service aide at Catskill Regional Medical Center for nearly 47 years and a lifelong area resident died Sunday January 17, 2016 after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. She was 70 years old. The daughter of the late Richard C. Tyler and Amy I. Tyler, she was born on January 30, 1945 in Cochecton Center, NY. She will be lovingly remembered for her kind heart, her generosity, her beautiful laugh, her playful spirit, as a hard worker, and her love of family; especially her beloved granddaughters. She is survived by her sons, Robert L. Brown, of Waltham, MA, Joshua Peter Jones of Liberty, NY, and Patrick B. Jones of Mt. Pocono, PA; her granddaughters Tahkira Jones, Jazlynn Jones, Gabriella Jones, and Chelsea Jaquot; her brothers Kirby Tyler of Cochecton, NY, Ricky Tyler of Cochecton, NY, Walter Tyler of Liberty, NY, Mark Tyler of Glen Allen, VA; her sisters Madalyn Hanson of Damascus, PA, Amy Tyler of Monticello, NY, and Connie Gopel of Livingston Manor, NY; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, loving in-laws, countless friends, and her CRMC and Evergreen families. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter Montrose Jones, whom she was married to for 34 years prior to his passing in 2014. Visitation will be held Monday January 25, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at VanInwegen Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello, NY. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with the Reverend Walter Tyler officiating. Burial will follow at Laurel Cemetery in Cochecton Center, NY.
