Orelia Demetria Major, a former switchboard operator at the Concord Resort Hotel, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at her home in Monticello. She was 44. Orelia was born March 3, 1971 in Monticello and was a 1989 graduate of Monticello High School. She is survived by her mother: Agatha Dutrey Major and stepfather: Adolph Cole of Monticello; her father and stepmother: Lawrence Major and Laura Smith of Loch Sheldrake; two sisters: Sharon and Desiree; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 15 from 11am-12 noon at the Bethlehem Temple Church, 93 Fairground Road in Monticello. Her funeral service will then begin at 12:00 noon at the church. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to the family would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home of Monticello.
