Obituary of Gail Carbonaro

Gail Carbonaro of Plymouth, Vermont and Wurtsboro, New York, died Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 61. The daughter of the late John Carbonaro and Johanna Guadagno Carbonaro, she was born April 14, 1954 in New York City. Gail received her Master's Degree from Hunter College in NYC. She always said she didn't know what she wanted to be when she grew up. She had various employments including Building Manager for Tishman Speyer in NYC, and Director of Daycare at Okemo (VT) Mt. Resort. She had many wonderful friends and was a wonderful friend to many. The family would like to thank her many friends for always being there for her especially Jane, Helen, Anne and Miriam. She will be sadly missed by all, especially her nephew and nieces, whom she always treated as her own. She is survived by two sisters: Joan Carbonaro & her husband Tom of Wurtsboro, and Rita Carbonaro of Whiting, NJ; three nieces: Dawnmarie Jacoby, Darlene Smurra, and Danielle Smurra; a nephew: Benny Ortiz; one great niece and three great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Vito. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, January 14 from 10am to 12 noon at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr.
