Obituary of Andrew DiMarco

Andrew Christopher DiMarco was born August 25th, 1928 in the Bronx, New York. He dedicated his life to his wife Aurora of 56 years and to his sons Jeff, 55 yrs. of New Paltz, NY & Brian 54 yrs., of Goshen, NY, their wives Carmen & Jennifer and grandchildren, Nicholas, 19 yrs., Aurora, 17 yrs., Joseph 16 yrs., and Anthony 13 yrs.
He was the oldest son of 6 children. His father Arturo DiMarco came to the United States from Palermo, Sicily in 1922, married Jessica Torre; had 4 brothers & 1 sister. Andrew is also survived by his two brothers Salvatore DiMarco of Massapequa, NY & Delray Beach FL & James DiMarco of Fort Meyers, FL, & numerous nieces and nephews.
He equally dedicated himself to his business, Four Seasons Custom Homes, of Rock Hill, NY and the countless customers, workers, & the numerous people he touched for over 4 decades. He was responsible for the building of hundreds of quality custom homes in and out of the area, but best known for the Emerald Green development and Lake Louise Marie.
He was an avid hunter which took him all over North America in search of trophy animals. It was his passion which he shared proudly with close friends and family, especially his son Jeff, his hunting partner for over 35 years.
He was a Navy veteran and joined at 17 yrs. old in 1945. After WW II he worked on strategic air command SAC headquarters in Thule, Greenland & Thule Air Base. He was a life member of the N.R.A & North American Wildlife Foundation, and numerous outdoor & business organizations.
He had a magnetic personality and old school charm & approach to life. He was a simple man who loved his family and friends unconditionally. He will be greatly missed and there will never be another to fill his shoes. He employed hundreds of men and subcontractors over the years. He was very tough but extremely fair. He was always there to help if someone needed it. He truly cared about his customers and men.
He passed on January 3rd, 2016 at Orange Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family & close friends.
Family & friends are invited to gather on Thursday, January 7 from 5-8pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 8 at 11am at St. Peter's Church, Broadway & Liberty Street in Monticello.
