Carl "Shotzie" Gluck of Greenwood, Delaware died Friday, April 5, 2013. He was 83.
Shotzie was well known for serving the public during his life. He was involved in various businesses, The Polar Bear in Matamoras, PA, The Holiday Mountain Food Concession, Dairy Royal Custard Stand, as well as a short order cook for the Miss Monticello Diner and Gager's Diner. He also ran a hot dog wagon and Shotzie's on Route 42.
The son of the late Carl and Tillie Rubner Gluck, he was born February 4, 1930 in the Bronx, NY. Shotzie was a resident in Greenwood Delaware, but spent most of his life in the Monticello area.
He is survived by his four children; Carl (Debra) Gluck of Monticello, Carol (Wayne) Keesler of Goshen, NY, Charles (Tammy) Gluck of Wilkes Barre, PA, Cheryl (Tony) of Greenwood, DE. He was blessed with eight Grandchildren; Carl, Melissa, Erin, Kyle, Tyler, Charles, Cheyann, and Brandie, and two Great grandchildren; Charles and Crystal. One Sister; Dorothy (William) Finnegan of California, One Brother; Paul (Lynn) Gluck of Pennsylvania, One Brother in Law; Garcia (Gail) Morrow of Missouri, One Sister in Law; Marlene Pullmain of New York. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Gloria Maxine Morrow Gluck.
Family & friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, April 10 from 2 -4 and 7-9pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Funeral Services will be Thursday, April 11 at 10:00am with Rev. Steven Peiffer of the Goshen United Methodist Church, at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in St John Street Cemetery, Monticello, NY.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Penn Ave., NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
