Obituary of Richard A. Parlow

Richard Parlow, 76 of Forestburgh, NY passed away peacefully at Westchester Medical Center on December 16, 2015. The son of the late Ernst and Johanna Krakowski Parlow, he was born on July 29, 1939 in New York City. On October 28, 1961 he married the love of his life, Olga Hrenkevich Parlow at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Forestburgh. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Olga, their daughter Joanne Parlow Nagoda with Karl Johnson; and three grandchildren, Alexander Nagoda and Jenna Taylor of Valley Stream, NY, Amy Nagoda of Vero Beach, Florida and Andrew Nagoda of Forestburgh. He also leaves one sister, Helena Parlow Theurer of Park Ridge, NJ. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Bert; and a brother in law, John Theurer. Richard was retired from the Sullivan County Department of Public Works. Prior to that he owned and operated Suburban Garbage Removal and the Forestburgh General Store. He was a charter member of the Forestburgh Fire Company and a member of the Elks Lodge #1544 in Monticello. The family wishes to extend many thanks and prayers to the wonderful nurses in the Westchester Medical Burn Unit who became our extended family and gave Richard outstanding care while they laughed and cried with us. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, December 20 from 2-5pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello, during which there will be Firematic and Elks services. His funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21 at 11am at the funeral home with Fr. Ivan Csete officiating. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery in Forestburgh.
