Obituary of Denis W. Dean

Denis W. Dean, 76, a resident of Woodridge, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Orange Regional Medical Center. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late Veronica and Raymond Dean. Denis was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a passionate man who in his younger years became a licensed real estate broker and started a business called Lightco Realty in New Milford, NJ. He was later employed by Wakefern. And most recently in retirement worked for Rolling V bus company and at Tarry Brae Golf Course. He enjoyed golfing, playing chess, and fishing. Many of his other hobbies included playing the guitar and doing card and other magic tricks for family and friends. Denis is survived by his wife and best friend, Elizabeth of 36 years. He was extremely loving and proud of his son, Ralph J. DeConti and his wife, Anya of Virginia; four daughters: Jennifer Poytress and her husband, Phillip of Alabama, Tara Vero and her husband, Vincent or Pine Bush, NY, April Velasco and Randy Resnick, of Rock Hill, NY, and Melanie Dean of Alabama. He is also survived by his brothers: Raymond Dean and David Dean; and a sister, Patricia Woodward of NJ; as well as 8 loving grandchildren and his many loving brother and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, and other friends. The family will receive family and friends in a special "Celebration of Denis's life", Friday, April 5th from 1pm-4pm at Bernie's Holiday Restaurant in Rock Hill, NY.
