Obituary of Mahealani M. Werner-Tallia

Mahealani Werner-Tallia was called by our Lord Jesus, to eternal paradise on March 30, 2013 at home in the arms of her loving husband, Dr. John Tallia. She was 43 years old. She fought a long and valiant battle, for the love of her family, against the most wretched of all ailments. Mahi worked many years as office manager for her husband and was loved and will be missed by all of their patients. We pray that her two young boys, Hunter and Dante will find solace and have their tears of grief dried by knowing that she is now an Angel, residing with our Heavenly Father, watching over them. She also leaves behind her mother, Roweena and two siblings in NYC. The family gives thanks to Dr. M. Perry and all the staff of CRMC Oncology Dept. for their Herculean efforts. Maria Cruz and the other good nurses and team members of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties deserve accolades for easing her final journey. Gratitude is due to Cara, Steven and Johnny and our many friends who have lent a helping hand during these trying times. Special love goes out to Susan and Jack McCormick whose constant and continued efforts are the glue which binds the fabric of our family together. Thank you "Nettie" for keeping my mind reasonably sound. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 5 at 11am at the Church of St. Joseph, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating, followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Wurtsboro. A celebration of Mahi's life will follow at the Rock Hill Fire House, 61 Glen Wild Road in Rock Hill.
