Irma Jean Raynor of Monticello, a retired nurse's aide for the Sullivan Co. Adult Care Center in Liberty, died Monday, August 10, 2015, in Middletown. She was 83. The daughter of the late Festus Leroy Raynor and Fonnie King Raynor, she was born July 13, 1932, in Mount Olive, NC. After moving to the Catskills in the 60's to pursue employment, she successfully completed the certification requirements to be a nurse's aide. She would later work 23 years in this role. She was a dedicated employee and earned the respect of her colleagues and supervisors. She was known by her family and friends as a woman passionate about current events. She is survived by her children, Reginald, Terry (Ellis), Dwight Lamont, and Phyllis (Surrett) and their spouses; grandchildren (Darryl, Carey, Anquenette, Darrin, Eric, and Ronique); great grands and great great grands. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings (Joseph and Anne), daughter (Wilma "Queenie"), and grandchild (Shanta). Family & friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 15 from 2-4pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Her funeral service will begin at 4pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
