Obituary of Flor Maria Graham

Florita Graham January 7, 1948 – July 27, 2015 Wurtsboro, NY Flor Maria Graham, known to everyone as "Florita", died on July 27, after an extended battle with cancer, she was 67. Florita was born on January 7, 1948 in Los Pozos, Panama, to father Carlos Gonzalez and mother Porfiria Mendoza. She grew up in a large family in Panama and came to the United States when she was 21. She moved to Wurtsboro where she lived and worked with Stella and Leo Wilensky. Florita married her husband Michael Graham on September 11, 1971 and they have been blissfully married for 43 years. She was President of their family owned business but her most important role was that of a stay at home mother where she instilled the importance of family and education in her daughters. When diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001 and later kidney cancer in 2003, she remained dedicated to her family and in her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months. She insisted that those who knew and loved her celebrate her life. Florita is survived by her husband: Michael Graham; two daughters: Ginger Andre and Sabrina Coll; and her son-in-laws; Peter Andre and Christopher Coll; and most dear to her heart her grandchildren; Nikko and Mia Andre and expectant granddaughter of Sabrina and Chris; sisters, Miriam Hickman and Edy Gonzalez; and numerous loving relatives in Panama. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29 from 5-8 pm at the VanInwegen-Kenny Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street, in Wurtsboro. Her funeral service will be held at 7pm at the Funeral Home.
