Obituary of Marilyn V. Grobusch

Marilyn V. Grobusch, a longtime resident of Wurtsboro, NY passed away March 27, 2013 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 82. The daughter of the late William and Eleanor (McCallum) Meyer, she had three siblings: Eleanor, William and Margarette. Marilyn was born October 23, 1930 in Hoboken, NJ. She attended PS 27 in Jersey City and worked as a telephone operator in Manhattan until she married the late Josef Grobusch, a chef at various hotels in the Catskills. Marilyn was well known throughout the Wurtsboro community, she was the coordinator of the religious education program for St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She held that post for the better part of 30 years. Marilyn is survived by her son: George Grobusch and his wife, Sabine of Wurtsboro; her two grandchildren: Amber and Josef Grobusch; her niece, Ivone and husband, Jeff Sweet and their son, Christopher Whitehead; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 1st from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 180 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro with Fr. Peter Madori officiating.
